Robert Merkot FSA

Robert has worked for several UK Universities, finally as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Exeter.

A specialist in ancient North-East Africa, he has published academic papers, books, and more popular works on Libya, Egypt, and Sudan. He has considerable experience as a lecturer and guide on tours to those countries for forty years. He was for many years a Trustee of the Egypt Exploration Society, was Chair of the Society for Libyan Studies (now BILNAS) and is currently President of the Friends of the Petrie Museum (UCL).
